Girl Fleeing Persecution in China Kidnapped in New York

The Falun Dafa Information Center has learned of the kidnapping Saturday of a young Beijing girl, Youran Zhao (pronounced “yo-ron jow”), at the hands of a Chinese delegation while visiting the northeastern United States with a study-tour group. Zhao, 14-years old, disappeared sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday noon after declaring her intent to seek political asylum. Zhao practices Falun Gong, which is subject to severe human rights violations in China. Human rights attorneys are seeking immediate intervention from federal agencies. The Information Center believes Zhao is in imminent danger, and is calling for urgent help in locating her and securing her safety.

Falun Gong Techie Beaten and Bound in Atlanta Home; Computers Stolen

The Falun Dafa Information Center has learned that Falun Gong practitioner Peter Yuan Li was assaulted and robbed by armed Asian men yesterday in his Atlanta home. Li is an information technology specialist who has been active in Falun Gong human rights advocacy over the past six years.

Photo Evidence Tells of Grisly Torture in China

The Falun Dafa Information Center recently obtained photographs that provide startling evidence of torture in China at the hands of authorities. The photos reveals horrific mutilation of the breasts of Falun Gong adherent Ms. Wang Yunjie, of Dalian city, Liaoning province, and bespeak of the continued violence perpetrated in China against followers of the Falun Gong.

With assistance and support from the U.S. State Department, Members of Congress and several NGOs, Ms. Weixun Li arrived in the U.S. last week as a UN refugee. Li had fled China where she had been tortured to the brink of death.

After working on Wall Street for several years, I joined a start-up firm in 1997. Two years later we completed development of a software system that raised the bar in the enterprise project management arena. As we had hoped, the industry leader sat up, took notice, and by the spring of 1999 set out to acquire us. URGENT APPEAL: Henan Agriculture University Graduate Suffering Severe Torture, Near Death

Reports from China indicate that 29-year-old Xu Song is currently being detained and tortured at the First Detention Center in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, because he is a practitioner of Falun Gong. To protest the brutality, Mr. Song went on a hunger strike that, as of January 3, has lasted more than 50 days.

Chinese "Show Trial" Slaps American with 3-Year Sentence

After more than 50 days of isolated detention, American citizen Dr. Charles Li was hurried through a show trial by China’s "high court". The Intermediate People's Court in Yangzhou announced its anticipated "guilty" verdict late yesterday, March 21.
